Photographer Joanna Henderson

I heard only recently that photographer  has her own website, so I had to peek around. I remember writing about her work first in 2007 and since, think she has developed a really nice body of work - mainly interiors and lifestyle based. I'd like to share with you two "stories" that I particularly enjoyed with my cup of tea this morning. The first was shot by Joanna with stylist  and focuses on paint and paper. Although this was shot last Autumn, the look is so timeless that it applies beautifully today. I love these warm, matte neutrals right now, don't you? They really bring in a spirit of calm and comfort. And of course, the styling work and art direction of Sania is consistently impeccable these days.

The next story features the photography again of only this time, showcasing the styling work of  This time the focus is on moulds, of all things. It took me by surprise that you could produce such a lovely visual story around such a mundane object. This color palette is truly beautiful. I particularly like the white ceramic moulds but also fancy the vintage tin ones and the stunning cooper mould shown below.

What a nice way to begin the week! Now I'm off to teach two - one is all about writing a great bio and the other is about how to turn blogging into something that you love again.

See you later today with a big book giveaway!

Made In You

Friday is typically a nice day, isn't it? There's a certain magic in the air midday. When I worked in corporate, I'd hang out with my colleagues chatting about weekend plans and discussing our week and silly upper management. We'd disappear for coffee, for that final jolt of caffeine to push us through until 5pm when we'd be free at last like birds.

Now as a freelancer, there is no such thing as the end of a work week. My work is continuous now, always on my mind and I work weekends even when I don't want to. And yet, Fridays are still magical unicorn kind of days, there is still that Friday feeling buzz. I'd like to wish you a magical Friday and a beautiful evening filled with hope, then promise tomorrow, and the finding of good things on Sunday for you and your family (and little ones, if you have them). For now, I'm leaving you with gorgeous inspiration from a site I recently discovered from one of the founders, Nessa, called , based in France. Look at their gorgeous event styling... Makes me want to float away.

Have a nice weekend! Oh, and a big thanks to for featuring in their June 2014 issue - I just discovered it yesterday and was so pleased.

Oh! And we've added a co-teacher to , Fiona Humberstone, and she'll be teaching many great topics including full-on blog branding such as the absolute essentials of color psychology, making design decisions that reflect your style and using color psychology to influence your editorial decisions so that you communicate with authenticity and consistency. Inspired By Stylist James Leland Day

I always like to peek in on what my friend is up to on his website. He has a few new style stories on his site that inspired me today to take a country drive. is an American professional Style Director and Interior Designer who lived in Paris for years and who now is based in Berlin and has quite an extraordinary eye and vision and is a really lovely person to boot.

If you were at my in London at on Regents Street awhile back, you will remember meeting him - he was one of my special guests who spoke about decorating. Here are some inspirations from his portfolio to inspire your weekend. I'm feeling Fall-ish after seeing these images and then  in the German countryside picking flowers, pumpkins, squash, sunflowers... So I'm ready to work on preparing the house for more of a Fall mood this weekend to welcome in September. What about you, what will you do? For my friends stateside, have a lovely Labor Day weekend.

Instagram Favorite: The Doctors Closet

Hey Hey Peeps! And no, you're not reading the post title wrong, it's totally Saturday here where I live too despite this being called Instagram Fave Friday. But I'm a little late and I still wanted the post to go up so I could show you guys that consistency means something to me despite how crazy upside down my schedule is since becoming a mom! I wake up not knowing what day of the week it is. I feel a bit like I'm in a dream, on vacation, on a roller coaster and moving in slow motion - all at once and I love it but man, I'm so glad I work from home because I don't know how working moms who have to leave each day do it. Props. But back to the point of this post -- Today let's drool look at another Instagramer I adore. An inspirational er, so perhaps this is an Inspirgramer? Let's look at or on IG and you tell me if this is the stuff inspiration is made of or what.  About this lady: Monika Hibbs, a Vancouver- who talks about everything home and fashion related with a huge focus on her home. She also has an  (I want everything!). Here is a glimpse of her IG world. As I was putting this post together, I saw that she's a fan of . Makes me proud and happy to see Canadian fans!  Isn't this all just so pretty? Have a nice weekend everyone. xo (images: monika hibbs)

Stunning German Home + Studio Oink

Hello everyone! Okay so I have to highlight a recent home tour and article that I just found in my inbox from the beautiful because it's a pretty swank pad based in Germany and as an American living here at the moment, it's always exciting to see what's happening in my own part of the world. I feel like everything beautiful and cool that is what I consider tasteful, enviable, drool-worthy... is coming out of Los Angeles or Sydney at the moment. I know that's NOT the case, as this home clearly shows, so that's why I really want to highlight it. If you don't live in southern California or Australia one can feel a bit like they are missing out on all of the interiors fun!

This home is in Wiesbaden, Germany and is owned by interior designers and stylists Lea Korzeczek and Matthias Hiller of , a design studio focused on set design and residential interior design. I adore their marble floor, which really surprised me because normally I don't go for tile or marble in living spaces (wet spaces, yes - kitchen, entry, laundry, bathroom, etc.). The marble is so classy I think, and being beige vs. the gray marble you normally see, it is warm and welcoming as marble can often feel very sterile. I wouldn't go as far to say that this apartment feels "warm" though, it still has a coolness about it but that is obviously what this talented duo was going for - something upscale and posh. Mission accomplished. James Bond could live here.

I personally like the details, like the texture of the wall behind the art above, the coastal-theme artwork, the soft tones, the lighting, the wooden chairs and the gorgeous sheepskin throw. I, of course, like the addition of fresh flowers - especially the floppy romantic peony. Well done.

Here are some of their other projects below; also quite stunning and minimalistic but with pretty accents that draw you in. Their rooms look like they could be in films. I particularly adore the kitchen below...

The fresh green plants really call to me, especially the above shot with a peek of greenery through the old wooden windows... These photos are all so light and bright, a big vitamin D injection for sure.

What do you like about these spaces? See anything that calls out to you?

PSST: Studio Oink also has a blog that I just started following called . Check it out. They have a lovely too.

Elli Popp For The Home

My friend visited yesterday from London to see our new baby, , who is also the founder/designer of the  collection. If you frequent the fairs, like the  in Paris, you may have come across her work. Her latest collection includes silk scarves, a gorgeous kimono, 3D wallpapers and quirky bone china with fingerprints for the tabletop. She brought along some wallpaper samples and images so I will show you a few below...

Her work would fit so beautifully in , , and of course,  so my fingers are crossed that her line will get picked up by a one of these retailers... Though she already has had so much success with her line that anything at this point would just be a wonderful bonus for her brand.

Psst: If you live in Europe, some of her wallpapers are available .
